Rough recovery

We've been home for 6 days now and Layla is refusing to take her medicine. So not only is she in pain, her bladder keeps having spasms because she's not taking her meds for it, and she's at risk for an infection because she won't take her antibiotic. We have literally tried every single thing trying to trick her into taking her medicine every day. Out of 5 children she's the only one I've not been successful at tricking. I really don't know what else to do. She's in so much pain she stays up all night long hurting. I've been using the Tylenol suppositorys and that's with her fighting me every second. They are not helping at all. 😥 hopefully soon she will give up and give in! As for now it looks like it's going to be a long road to recovery. We've got 4-6 weeks with the stent in 😩

Home & Recovering Well

We have been home for 2 days now and Layla is recovering well. She's pretty sore and she's still bleeding a lot. But she's able to get up, walk around, and play. She's one tough and brave little girl! She doesn't know it yet but she's my hero. I couldn't imagine after going through everything she's been through smiling everyday like she does. We are going to take her dressing off her incision in 2 more days. And her follow up is in 4 weeks where we schedule her next surgery to remove the stent. Thank you all for following along and praying for my sweet girl! It literally means the world to us!

Not a very good morning

Layla hasn't had the best night or morning. She was up most of the night in pain. And she started vomiting around 4am, so far 4 times. They won't give her any nausea meds until the doctors come by to see her. This morning was the first time I've heard her cry since her surgery 😢 she cried 3 times this morning and broke my heart. She sat up on her own and ill never forget the look on her face, she was hurting and she was scared. It seemed as if it's the first time she really felt her incision in her tummy. Hopefully she didn't do any damage to it when she sat up like that. The look on her face and the way she cried seemed like she could have. Please doctors come in soon and take this cath out so she's got 1 less thing to hurting her. 😫 

Moved to a bigger room

We finally got out of the overflow unit and into a bigger room. Layla is awake now and she's ate a few chips and cheese dip. (Yummy!) the doctor is going to come by in the morning and take her cath out and see how she does. If she's eating & drinking, walking, and her pain is manageable we will go home tomorrow late afternoon! Yay! Let's see how well she does...

In our room

We are moved into our room where we will be spending the remainder of our stay, nice over flow room with no fridge, shower, or couch. 😔 But that's the least of my worries right now. She just woke up for maybe 5 minutes long enough to say she's hurting, take medicine, and a sip of sprite. She's back asleep and in my arms. I won't sleep a wink tonight because I hurt for her, as a mother your child's pain is your pain. We talked to the doctor after surgery about his findings. He said that her ureters were so tiny he couldn't even get a cath in them. They were no where near normal size so that is the reason why she needed a stent in. She has a very tiny bladder, and her kidney had some sort of crud in it. It appeared to be like a crystallization of some sort. The doctor said he had never seen anything like it and did not know what it was or could have been caused from so he sent it off for a culture. :( please god don't let it be anything serious! Thank you all for praying and please continue to pray throughout her recovery!
